September 13, 2018 on the basis of the Department of Sociology of the ENU named after L.N. Gumilev the international round table on the topic of «Migration: New Trends and Directions» was organized.

Students of the 1st year of specialties "Sociology" and "Social Work" began their first academic year with an introduction to the scientific library of the ENU named after LN. Gumilev "Otyrar".

At the Social Sciences Faculty from 3.09.2018 to 8.09.2018 a decade of adaptation of first-year students took place. During one week, first-year students of the Social Sciences Faculty got acquainted with the peculiarities of training at ENU, the teachers of the faculty, the sights of the city of Astana and ENU.

Deputy Dean of the Social Sciences Faculty Gitikhmayeva L.N. and senior lecturer of the Sociology Department Isahanova A.A. successfully passed the course "Certified University Teacher" at the "Central Asian Center for Teaching, Learning and Entrepreneurship" ENU.

On August 28, 2018 the director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Textbook" B. Karimova presented the experts of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan with certificates of honor and letters of appreciation. Among award winners are the scholars of the department of "Social pedagogy and Self-knowledge" Menlibekova Gulbakhyt, Aikynbayeva Gulden, Abibulaeva Aizhan.
