Training and employment

Professional practices in the specialties 6B03103-Psychology, 7M03103-Psychology, 8D03103-Psychology are part of the educational process and are aimed at providing students with practical experience and skills necessary for further professional activity.

Types of practices:

1. Educational practice. The purpose of the training practice of students is to acquire primary professional competencies, including the consolidation and deepening of theoretical knowledge obtained in the course of training, obtaining the first skills of research activities.

2. Production practice. The purpose of industrial practice is to consolidate professional competencies, acquire practical skills and experience in professional activities.

3. Pre-graduate practice. The purpose of the pre-graduate practice is to complete the writing of the thesis.

4. Research practice. The research practice of a master's/doctoral student is conducted in order to get acquainted with the latest theoretical, methodological and technological achievements of domestic and foreign science, with modern methods of scientific research, processing and interpretation of experimental data.

The department is working to promote the employment of graduates: it studies the labor market, searches for vacancies, organizes cooperation with representatives of enterprises and educational organizations.

An important factor in the employment and professional activity of graduates of the Department of Psychology is the annual monitoring of the employment of graduates.

The mechanisms for monitoring the professional activity of graduates are questionnaires, feedback to graduates through social networks, etc.

The L. N. Gumilyov ENU has an Alumni Association, which supports graduates and their subsequent professional development (https://www.enu.kz/ru/o-enu/structura/departament-po-akademicheskim-voprosam/otdel-karery/).

Head of the Department "Psychology" based on the overall work plan of the Department of organization and planning, and based on the list of graduates planning to graduates and reflects them in the work plan of the Department. Department is required to conduct curatorial hours on employment issues.

For all graduates of the specialty "5B050300 –Psychology", a data bank is formed on their distribution, including the following information: the name, address of the organization to which the graduate is distributed, as well as the intended position. To communicate with graduates, a bank of their email addresses is formed. Feedback from graduates is supported through negotiations, correspondence, meetings and e-mail, as well as conducting questionnaires of graduates of the current year and previous years. The analysis of graduates ' satisfaction with their employment is carried out on the basis of the survey data of graduates of previous years. Communication with graduates is organized through the activities of the university Alumni Association, the formation of a database of graduates, and the annual alumni forum.
