Challenges and realities of distance education

On December 11 and 12, 2020 at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University methodical webinars of the teaching staff of the ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov were held. The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs E.A.Ongarbaev, Director of the Department for Academic Affairs B.B.Kashkhynbay and the faculty of the university.

As part of these methodological webinars, various aspects of distance education were considered in the following areas:

1) Methodical approaches in the format of distance learning;

2) Digital technology in teaching;

3) Modular Competence Model;

4) Topical issues of multilingual education.

On the second day of the event, a round table “Criteria approach to assessing the level of knowledge” was held, following which a discussion was organized.

The main purpose of these methodological webinars was to exchange experience of the teaching staff of the university in the use of various teaching tools in the context of distance education, to improve the efficiency of the learning process in a pandemic.

A report on the topic “Modern trends in the development of environmental education in the context of distance learning” was presented by G.K.Dlimbetova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge and S.U.Abenova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Psychology.

Also under the guidance of Gaini Karekeyevna Dlimbetova, a PhD student of the specialty “Pedagogy and psychology” Saule Alimovna Zhaukina presented  a report on the topic “The ecological component in distance learning of future teachers on the example of the discipline “Modern Lesson Modeling in basic school”.

The teaching staff of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge expresses its gratitude to the university administration of L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University for the possibility of continuous professional development and exchange of experience in distance and online education.
