Meeting of students of ENU. L.N. Gumilyov with the Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development

17 February 2021 student activists in the areas of bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies of the Department of Religious Studies of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov in an online format met with the Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Nukezhanov.

The meeting was also attended by students from other universities, implementing educational programs in the specialties of religious studies, theology studies and Islamic studies.

Yerzhan Nukezhanov recommended that students pay special attention not only to theoretical training, but also to quality practical training.

During the meeting, issues were discussed regarding the improvement of curricula in the above specialties, as well as the passage of professional practice and future employment of students.

The Chairman of the Committee noted that Kazakhstan has created all the necessary conditions for obtaining religious studies and theological education.

Every year in Kazakhstan about 700 people graduate in theological and religious studies, and 1000 specialists in the field of religion take advanced training courses.

At the same time, today the issue of the lack of qualified specialists to be involved in information-preventive and rehabilitation activities remains relevant.

Following the meeting, students asked their questions of interest and exchanged views on improving educational programs in the field of religion.
