The 12th Republican Subject Olympiad in Religion and Theology among students of higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2019-2020 academic year was held in Nur-Mubarak. The Olympiad was held in the Kazakh language. Thematic focus of the Republican Olympiad: Phase I: "Group Project" - presentation and protection of work with a group of arbitrary form on the theme "The direction of public policy in the field of religious tolerance in the modern Republic of Kazakhstan: (problems and solutions)"; Phase II: "You are also born out of one brick...". - work with multistage tasks to test theoretical knowledge; Stage III: "Black Words - a Treasure of the Kazakh People" - (competition for the level of knowledge of black words by Abai Kunanbayevich); teams of 3 (three) students in "religion and theology" took part in the Olympiad.
The final stage of the Republican Olympiad is a competition between teams and students, consisting of three rounds (individual testing): 1. First round "Scientific project" - homework, participating teams prepare and defend a 5-7 minute research project on a given topic (creative freedom, presentation, video, report, slide, etc.); 2. Second round "Knowledge" - test tasks for theoretical knowledge; 3. Third round "Work" - tasks for general development (in writing). The jury consisted of lecturers from the Department of Religious Studies at Nur-Mubarak YIMU and heads of university teams. The judges, who focused on each stage, determined and awarded the winners.
