PARTICIPATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Within the framework of the SOLID project (Social work and strengthening NGOs in development cooperation to treat drug addiction) and at the invitation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology, Coordinator of the SOLID project Yessimova D.G. and senior lecturer of the Department of Sociology (doctoral student of the SOLID project) Kudabekov M.M. participate in an international scientific-practical conference on the topic “The state of gerontological services and disability issues in the Republic of Tajikistan: problems and ways of their solution” in Dushanbe (Tajikistan).

The purpose of the conference: to attract the attention of the executive bodies of state power, the country's parliament, the scientific community, the teaching staff of higher educational institutions, development partners and the civil society to the issues of population aging, current problems of social support for older citizens and people with disabilities on the need to adopt adequate measures to improve the situation in this area within the framework of the implementation of international legal instruments, including the Madrid International Plan of Action on Aging and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Yessimova D.G. makes a report on the topic “The role of social work in the prevention and treatment of drug addiction 2021-2024 in Kazakhstan (from the experience of the Solid project)” in the third section “Medical and social assistance to drug users and elderly people with HIV / AIDS”.
