December 19, 2018 Eco-volunteers of L.N. Gumilyov ENU participated in the Internet event “Eco.Web-2018” on the topic “International and national eco-interaction: ways of students’ cooperation”. The webinar was conducted by the Russian Fond of V.I. Vernadsky. The participation of the youth of our university in this event was organized by PhD candidate Abenova S. in the framework of scientific research.
The goals of “Eco.Web-2018” were to increase the interest of young people, to get the students and teachers involved in environmental education and awareness in international environmental issues.
The “Eco.Web-2018” program included presentations by leading Russian scientists, representatives of the scientific and pedagogical community, government agencies and non-governmental organizations. The Russian partners shared the practice of organizing environmental project initiatives of volunteering organizations aimed at shaping the environmental consciousness and thinking of the population.
The Russian Fond of V.I. Vernadsky’s president, the member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Grachev V.A started this event by welcoming everyone. Eco-volunteers listened to lectures on the topic "UNESCO Chairs: Development of International and National Eco-Interaction" (the Head of the Department of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University Yu.N.Sayamova). Also, the students with great interest listened to the speech of A. I. Nafiyeva, (“#MosEko” coordinator of the ecological volunteer movement) and M.A. Antonov, ("#RoseEko"coordinator of the public environmental project). Their information was related to the topic “Eco-friendly: easier than it seems.”
Thus, the participation of young people in the Internet event allowed us to gain international experience in organizing environmental volunteering movements and determining the prospects for active volunteering activities of young people at L.N. Gumilyov ENU.
