Students from the Faculty of Social Sciences took part in international conference

On October 20, 2023, an international conference on the topic of "Family- the Basis of Sustainable Demographic Development of Kazakhstan” took place in Astana. Students majoring in Sociology, Social Work, and Religious Studies participated in this scientific event. The conference addressed pressing issues concerning the demographic situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Presenters shared the results of their research, focusing on the causes of phenomena such as population aging, youth population growth, migration, and more.

Furthermore, the conference's scientific discussions revolved around societal well-being issues, including gender inequality, domestic violence, and the role of the family institution. Speakers included both domestic and international demographers, sociologists, and economists from Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Turkey.

The primary highlight of the conference was the establishment of the National Consortium of Research Organizations on Family, Gender Policy, and Demography in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Students from the Faculty of Social Sciences gained valuable knowledge and experience by participating in this significant scientific event in the fields of demography and gender policy.
