POST-DOCTORAL PROGRAM: MIGRATION PROCESS AND REFUGEES

Associate Professor of Sociology Department, PhD Baigabylov Nurlan successfully completed a scientific internship under the post-doctoral program. 

At Sociology Department of  Haji Bayram University (Ankara, Turkey) Baigabylov Nurlan, who won the Turkish Government scholarship in Sociology, conducted research in the 2018-2019 academic year.

Within the framework “Social and Economic Situation of the Kazakh Diaspora in Turkey” associate Professor,  Baigabylov Nurlan studied the cities Istanbul, Ankara, Konya, Izmir, as well as the villages Ismil, Altai, where the Kazakh diaspora is settled in Turkey. A sociological examination was carried out about Kazakh refugees from China who passed through Tibet, Pakistan and India to Turkey in the 1950s. Scientific results were published in international conferences and scientific journals, as well as scientific and methodological seminars were organized at Hajj Bayram Veli University and Istanbul University. He completed an internship as a “visiting researcher” at the Center for Migration Studies in Turkey and at the Center for Studies of Migration Processes at Yıldırım Bayazid University in Ankara. 

In November 2019, he moderated the final report of the post-doctoral program at the II International Congress of Strategic Studies of the Turkic World (October 27-30, Antalya), the symposium of social sciences of Turkic-speaking countries (October 30-November 01, Istanbul).

In November 2019, he made a report at the scientific-practical conference on the problems of the world migration in the city Sanliurfa, Turkey, and also as an international expert got acquainted with the work carried out by the UN in refugee adaptation camps located in the regions of Turkey bordering Syria.  

The results of the research work of the associate professor, PhD Baigabylov Nurlan, carried out at Sociology Department  in 2018-2019, were recognized as satisfactory by the Turkish government. The Turkish government handed him a special certificate under the post-doctoral program.
