On April 8, 2019, in the framework of the Decade of Science, the Department of Sociology presented the next issue of the Global Dialogue journal. The drafting group presented a selection of the best materials and shared with the problems of the translation process new sociological terms.
The Global Dialogue journal, initiated by the International Sociological Association, has been published since 2010 in 17 languages. Since 2015, the Department of Sociology of the LN Gumilyov Eurasian National University is responsible for the issue of the journal in the Kazakh language.
PhD in Sociology Almagul Musina prepared a report on the topic “National Sociologies”. Sociological knowledge is characterized by internationalism and universalism, it is a developed communication system of the global modern world.However, in every country of the global community there are problems peculiar only to this society. And we should not forget in our studies the importance of national sociology, which takes into account the culture and mentality of this community.
The MA of the 2nd course of the specialty "Sociology" Aқnur Imanқұl presented a review of articles on social work. The presentation addressed the issues of the institution of the family and the transformation of family functions, the redistribution of gender roles in the family, the provision of socio-economic and psychological assistance to family members.
A 4th year student of the specialty “Sociology”, Kuanysh Tel, spoke about the problem of “house-nails”, the appearance of which is connected with the process of urbanization. House-nails - buildings located in unauthorized places and preventing the full functioning of the road or other infrastructure.
The 2nd year students of the Department of Sociology familiarized themselves with the articles of the new issue of the journal, which analyzed class problems and inequalities, directions of development after the growth paradigm, and presented material on the development of right-wing populism on a global scale.
Professor of the Department Bayan Smakambet and doctoral candidate Almash Tlespaeva told about the principles that are followed when translating the Global Dialogue into the Kazakh language, presented new sociological terms and concepts.
