In general, the sphere of religion, which is important not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the world, is becoming more and more complex. One of the most important issues in the field of religion is religious extremism and religious terrorism. After the events of January 6, it became clear that there are a number of problems in our society related to religion and religious movements. Therefore, it is clear that the state needs highly qualified religious scholars to solve such religious problems.
L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University will hold the XIV Republican Student Specialised Olympiad in the field of "Religion" on April 7, 2022.
The conditions of participation stipulate that students must belong to this specialty (confirmation document - identity card). In case of non-compliance, they will not participate in the Olympiad. From each university 1 team of maximum 3 full-time students can participate. (Additional)
It is obligatory to appoint a group leader from the department of the sending side.
The Olympiad consists of 3 phases:
Phase 1 "Development of a Research Project": preparation of a term paper in the subject area "New Religious Movements and their Characteristics". The assignment should be a comprehensive analysis of the topic, scientifically sound and fully disclosed.
The following questions will be asked for the homework:
- Emergence of new religious movements.
- Research on new religious movements.
- Characteristics of new religious movements, etc.
- Homework requirements: Relevance, scientific character, originality of ideas, slide art, special attention to students' language.
Schedule for the performance: 10 min.

Stage 2 "Knowledge" - work with test tasks on theoretical knowledge.

Stage 3 "Choose a cell" - (on selected topics). Demonstrate your knowledge on the topic indicated in the selected cell. At this stage, all team members should be equally active. You will be required to answer additional questions from commission members.
