The idea of "Green Organizations" covers an increasing number of educational institutions around the world. Many leading universities are increasingly announcing the creation of "green" eco-sustainable and environmentally friendly campuses, considering it as part of the education of students. In order to exchange experience in these issues, Professor of the Department of Pedagogy Gaini Karekeevna Dlimbetova and senior lecturer of the PhD Department of Psychology Saulet Urazbekovna Abenova visited the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (within the framework of the AP14869631 project "Model "green school – green college - green University" as a system for the development of ecologization of education").
A meeting was held with the President, Professor Timothy Edward O'Connor; AUCA Vice-President C. B. Shamshiev; project manager of the Karagachevaya Grove Ecopark, ecologist Philippe Boiseau; Executive Director of the Center for Civic Engagement N. Karamoldoeva; coordinator of the Green AUCA program M. Lazutkina and coordinator of the Sustainable AUCA program M. Dzhakshylykova and others.
Main objective: exchange of experience in the development of the "green University", acquaintance with the international project "Green AUCA"; development of further cooperation and scientific exchange in the field of environmental education, sustainable development in educational institutions of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Scientists exchanged experience on the "greening" of the university, environmental components in elective courses, the development of eco-volunteer activities; studied the initiatives being implemented in the field of sustainable development and their achievements. Issues of joint organization of environmental events were discussed: master classes, eco-festivals, scientific conferences, guest lectures in order to form a green environmental direction, and the intention to sign a Memorandum between universities.
