SCIENTIFIC TRIP TO FINLAND S.SHAKIROVA AS PART OF A RESEARCH PROJECT

C 19.10.2023. po 25.10.2023 within the framework of project AP19679307 "Kazakhstan's development strategy: the problem of mediation in the settlement of modern social conflicts" from the working group on the representation of the head, the scientific trip to Finland was carried out by the leading researcher Shakirov S.E. In this business trip, he visited Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences by invitation. (SeAMK) This university is located in the western part of Finland in the city of Seinäjoki.

During the conversation with the President of the University, the issue of mediation as a social institution was raised. The President emphasized that he is open to dialogue for all his employees and students. He also noted that any of the students can directly address him with their problems and no one will prevent this meeting. Again, the emphasis was placed on the fact that all his teachers are intermediaries in the settlement of various kinds of conflicts.

At the university, we met the head of the communication department, Eliza Cannisto, and other scientists like Andres Mendez. Arona Marget and Hauto's Essay. In order to exchange experience, discussions were held on mediation, conflict resolution at the university, and issues of digitalization of Finland were also raised. Mediation at Finnish universities was also discussed in this discussion. During the discussion, scientists pointed out that mediation mechanisms are not used at the University of Applied Sciences of Seinijoki, nevertheless mediation in the settlement of various kinds of situations exists and is developing. In general, they emphasized that students and teachers themselves can act as intermediaries and mediators for the transformation of conflictogens.

In order to get acquainted with the scientific base of the University of Applied Sciences, Seinäjoki visited the library.

The University of Applied Sciences has two faculties and six fields of study. This is the Faculty of Technology and Business SeAMK and Social Security and Culture SeAMK.

During a business trip to Finland, we visited the modern central library "Oodi", which is located in Helsinki. 

 

 

In general, the Finnish higher education system is divided into traditional research universities, which focus more on academic research, and universities of applied sciences, which pay more attention to work connections. The Finnish education system is considered a model of success, which contributes to the development of 21st century skills such as cooperation, mediation, communication, creativity and critical thinking.
