The Republican Debate Tournament was held on February 19-20 at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The organizer of this event was the Ecological Volunteering Club of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
The debate tournament on the theme: "Sustainable Development Goals" was devoted to the development of integration of the student community. The participants of the tournament were active young people from Ukraine (Lviv) and cities of Kazakhstan: Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Karaganda, Kostanai, Kokshetau, etc., not indifferent to the environment.
The Dean of the Faculty, Professor B. Somzhurek made a welcoming speech. He stressed that one of the important priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the development of youth activity in the environmental movement. According to Professor B.Somzhurek "the game of debate forms in-demand skills, such as critical and analytical thinking, development of soft and hard skills".
On the second day the semi-finals and finals of the tournament were held and the names of the winners were announced. The winners were a third-year student of the Department of Psychology A.Konopat and a student of "A" class of school № 60 A.Akhmetov. Students of the Faculty of Economics of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU S.Mammadova, Sh.Nurmagambetov and a student of the NIS FMN Almaty M.Buribayeva won in the nomination "The best speaker of the tournament". The main judges were a graduate student of the Faculty of Law Bayndyev R. and a student of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Golota I.
At the end of the tournament, the winners were awarded souvenirs from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the L.N.Gumilev ENU.
We thank the organizers of the Republican tournament the leaders of the Environmental Volunteering Club of the Faculty of Social Sciences of L.N.Gumilyov ENU: Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge G.Dlimbetova, Master of Pedagogical Sciences D.Akimish, Master degree student of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge D.A.Tabaran and activists of the Parasat debate club for initiating interuniversity competitions in Kazakhstan and CIS countries. The organization of such events contributes to the promotion of the image of the ENU L.N.Gumilyov and the involvement of young people in the choice of educational programs of our university.
