On April 8, 2022, a lecture was given by Abel Polese, a researcher at Dublin City University, writer, author of the book «The SCOPUS Diaries and the (il)logic of Academic Survival: A Short Guide to Design Your Own Strategy and Survive Bibliometrics, Conferences, and Unreal Expectations in Academia» on the topic «Think strategically about your academic career».
A. Polesie shared his personal experience of preparing articles in Scopus, cases that can help structure the texts of articles, about the editorial policy of journals. He also recommended that the lecture participants work on qualitative rather than quantitative indicators in an academic career.
The hybrid lecture was organized by the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the L.N.Gumilyov ENU. The lecture was attended by doctoral students, young researchers, L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Eurasian Humanitarian Institute.
