On April 5, 2022, the senior lecturer of the department "Psychology" - Ganiyeva G.Kh. an on-site lesson was held on the discipline "Psychological assistance to children and adolescents in extreme situations" for 1st year undergraduates under the educational program "7M03110 - Crisis Psychology" in the office of a family psychologist with Makhashova G.K.
The practice-oriented lecture was devoted to the topic "Prevention of suicidal behavior in children and adolescents." Galiyash Makhashova shared her experience in this area, with case studies, successful results in working with clients with suicidal thoughts. During the lesson, the symptoms (external signs, behavior, conversations of a teenager), factors, causes, as well as preventive measures for suicidal behavior were discussed. Parents play a key role in this issue, as significant figures in the lives of children and adolescents. Bullying, the influence of gadgets and social networks among teenagers takes place, however, the foundation of mental stability is laid directly in the family.
The problem of suicide among adolescents is very relevant in our country and should not be avoided, but discussed.
The higher the level of literacy in this matter, the lower the risk of committing suicide attempts.
Such experience of meetings and discussions with practicing professionals effectively complement and enrich the educational process of future specialists.
