In the emergence of the implementation of the program "A look into the future: modernization of public consciousness.", Proposed in the article of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev and on the eve of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the 1st year students in the psychology of the department "Social pedagogy and self-knowledge" Social Sciences of the Eurasian National University named after LN Gumilyov on March 9, 2018 within the framework of scientific projects " Ecologization of the higher educational system as an innovative way of modernization of the spiritual students' consciousness ", debates were organized. The organizer of this event was the associate professor of the department "Social pedagogy and self-knowledge", candidate of psychological sciences Mandykaeva Almagul Ramazanovna.
A plan of realization of debates was drawn up in advance. The debate was focused on revealing the topic: the responsibilities of every resident of the city or special organization in solving the environmental problems of the city. Participants of the debate divided in their views into two groups and each group represented its own project. In the course of the debates, the students demonstrated slides reflecting the environmental problems of Astana city. Both sides: supporters and opponents expressed their arguments, asked each other questions, exchanged opinions. These discussions were listened by experts, who in turn analyzed the expressed opinions.
Students, as far as possible, managed to present ways of solving the problems posed: collection and storage of industrial and domestic waste, opening of processing plants, planting and protection of greenery, effective usage of land in order to improve the ecological situation in the city. Raise the status of a green city, a green university.
Came to the opinion that the solution of the ecological problems of Astana city is a duty of not only special organizations, but also the duty of every resident of the city. At the end of the debate, students expressed a desire: We, as young residents of the Astana city, are voluntarily ready to become volunteers in the framework of an eco-project.
