International activities of the Department of philosophy

Information about foreign partners

Department of philosophy within the framework of existing agreements on cooperation between foreign universities and ENU. L. N. Gumileva strengthens academic and research ties with foreign scientists who provide educational, scientific, and consulting support to students and teaching staff.

Cooperation has several formats, the main ones are: signing contracts for research internships of students and teaching staff; developing a network for academic mobility; improving the quality of multilingual programs; cooperation in projects and participation in international conferences; membership in international professional communities.

1) Work on the development of international relations begins with the conclusion of agreements on cooperation and mutual understanding. Thus, out of the total number of international agreements of the University (about 350), the Department actively cooperates with 30 foreign partners. The Department initiated the conclusion of international agreements between the Republic of Kazakhstan. L. N. Gumilyov and a number of educational centers and universities:

2015, cooperation agreement with the educational center "Eurasian Perspective" (Leiden);

2018, cooperation agreement with the French Institute for Central Asian studies, IFEAC (Bishkek);

2018, Memorandum of understanding with Mirzo Ulugbek national University of Uzbekistan (Tashkent).

Thanks to this, the database of research internships for undergraduates and doctoral students, as well as faculty of the Department, has expanded.

In 2015, three teachers (Sandybayeva U. M., ermaganbetova K. S., Ramazanova A. CH.), master's students of the OP cultural Studies (2014-2016) were trained at the educational center "Eurasian Perspective".

Cooperation with the French Institute for Central Asian studies, personally with INALCO Professor Catherine Pujols, allowed three employees of the Department (Medeuova K., Sandybayeva U., Tolgambayeva D.) and 1 doctoral student of the OP cultural Studies (Musabayeva F.) to pass a research internship in 2019 at the National Institute of Oriental languages and cultures (INALCO); and with the support of the French Institute in Paris (IF de Paris) and the French Embassy in Kazakhstan to organize June 22, 2018. in Astana, an international round table on the theme: "Astana – the city of the future", where a graduate of the OP of cultural Studies – Zhanna Mukasheva made a report on the topic of her thesis research "Mosaic of Astana: authors, themes, heritage".

2) Academic mobility (outgoing, incoming)

Based on the General provisions on the implementation of research work, all undergraduates and doctoral students must undergo scientific training at ENU partner universities, and faculty members must improve their competencies through research internships, advanced training courses, and participation in international scientific events. The task of the Department is to expand the network of partnerships, attract new foreign consultants for doctoral work and assist in the training of undergraduates. 

Academic mobility of bachelors depends on the participation of individual students in various student exchange programs, as well as on participation in individual projects. Tak Taurbay Aniet, bachelor of philosophy (set 2016-2019) - participant of the international conference: I St. Petersburg international youth labor forum, Russia, St. Petersburg, Russia, 2017; holder of the Mevlana Exchange Program scholarship of the Ministry of science and education of Turkey, chankyry Karatekin University, Ankara, Turkey, 2018; Bakay Maratov, student of the Kyrgyz national University. Zhusupa balasaguni spent the 2019 semester on the philosophy, bachelor's degree program as part of academic mobility.

Academic mobility of undergraduates takes place in partner Universities of the University. Turkish universities dominate as places of research practice: Kocaeli; Uludag; Gazi; Marmara; Ankara Haji Bayram Veli; Kastamonu, EGE, Erciyes.

In second place are European universities and educational centers: University of Wroclaw, Poland; University of Bologna, Italy; Sofia University, Bulgaria; national University of Oriental languages and civilizations and CONCORD international Academy, France; educational center "Eurasian Perspective", the Netherlands; University of Warsaw, Warsaw.

American universities are represented by the University of Washington and the University of Kentucky.

In addition, cooperation with CIS universities is also actively developing: Kazan (Volga) Federal University; Yerevan state University; Bashkir state University, Ufa; European Humanities University, Saint Petersburg; Belarusian state University, Minsk;Moscow state University. M. Lomonosov.

Mandatory research internships for undergraduates are accompanied by additional visits to academic and cultural sites in the host country. Thus, during their internship at the CONCORD international Academy in Paris, undergraduates of the OP cultural Studies and Philosophy Alzhanova G., Galimova B., Dzhumadieva N., Amanbaykyzy M. participated in various scientific events held at UNESCO. At the seminar "Interaction of Kazakhstan with international UN institutions" at UNESCO, G. Alzhanova presented her article "Mashkhur Zhusup Kopeev Mausoleum as a sacred "place of memory"for discussion.

Academic mobility of doctoral students is directly related to their research for the preparation of a doctoral dissertation.

DOCTORAL STUDENT INTERNSHIPS

Among the important partner universities and professors who supervise internships are: Sinan Ozbek, Kocaeli University; Bulent Shen'ay and Abdul Kadir Chuchek, Uludag University; Ibrahim Dilek, Gazi University; Nuri Tinaz, Marmara University; Figen Guner Dilek, Ankara Haji Bayram Veli University; Ali Rafet Ozkan, Kastamonu University; Tatiana Dronzina, Sofia University, Gafur Salikhov, Bashkir University state University; Charles Weller, University of Washington; Stephen Byrd pollon, University of Kentucky.

The work on expanding the academic partnership is one of the most important in the Department's activity as it is connected with the search for new opportunities for managing doctoral works. So for the 2019 enrollment, new contracts were signed with Mariusz Turowski, PhD, assistant Professor At the Institute of philosophy, University of Wroclaw; Francesco Bellucci, University of Bologna; Tatiana Titova, Kazan (Volga region) Federal University; and Diana Kudaibergenova, University of Cambridge.

April-June 2017 doctoral candidate, Department of Saury Samaha passed research internship at the Mongolian State University. The City Of Ulan Bator. The topic of the research is "the Secret legend: cultural and philosophical analysis".

Academic mobility and international relations of the faculty are connected with professional development, invitation to read guest lectures, publications in foreign, including rating publications.

October 2015, completion of advanced training courses "training of the XXI century: innovative methods, creative learning environment, globalization, devices" at the Institute of training of educational personnel Of the University of Helsinki (Medeuova K., Sandybayeva U., Tolgambayeva D.).

June 2015, research internship funded by the CARTI program at the University of St Andrews, Scotland (Medeuova Ka).

May 3-4, 2016, scientific seminar with invited lecturer Oksana Timofeeva from the European University in St. Petersburg.

March 15, 2017, theoretical seminar for Museum researchers "Museum and the public sphere" with the participation of researcher Nellie Beckus from the University of Exeter (UK). National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On October 17, 2017, for the 125th anniversary of Mukhtar Auezov, a joint presentation of the books by Garifolla Yessim "Kemenger Mukhtar" and the poet Bakhytzhan Kanapyanov "Reverse perspective" in the BULAC library of the Institute of Oriental languages and civilizations, Paris, France.

February 16, 2018, Smirnov A., Institute of philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Pruzhinin B., magazine "Questions of philosophy", Shchedrina T., Moscow state pedagogical University held a seminar for doctoral students of the OP Philosophy, cultural Studies.

In March 2018, the international scientific and practical conference "Women scientists of Belarus and Kazakhstan" was held in Minsk as part of the Memorandum of cooperation between ENU and the Belarusian state University, as well as with the participation of the NGO "Union of women of BSU". Professor R. Imanzhusup made a speech at the conference. in addition, she held a seminar on the topic "Kazakh for all", and also participated in the opening of the Kazakh-Belarusian center in Minsk.

October-November 2018, a course for doctoral students on orientalist and postcolonial concepts was delivered by Sinan Ozbek, a visiting Professor from Kocaeli University.

March 26-April 3, 2019, scientific internship at the research center "Europe-Eurasia" (CREE) of the National Institute of Oriental languages and civilizations (INALCO), Paris, France (Medeuova K., Sandybayeva U., Tolgambayeva D.).

In 2015-2019, senior lecturer Ramazanova A. CH. completed her PhD under the program "Scholarships of Turkey" at EGE University (Izmir).

August-September 2019, within the framework of the agreement on the main forms of cooperation between the Intellectual path NGO (Russia) and Shokan Zholdary NGO (Kazakhstan), Professor R. Imanjusup delivered a series of lectures on the history of Kazakh-Bashkir cultural ties in Ufa and held a round table “Development and strengthening of direct integration ties” in Astana.

March-may 2020 senior lecturer Ermagambetova K. Passes a research internship at the University of Lund, Lund, Switzerland under the Horizon program. Research topic "Legal culture in Central Asia".

June 19-23, 2019, 16th Conference of the European Society for Central Asian Studies (ESCAS)”Globalization of Central Asia". The conference, which was held at the University of Exeter, great Britain, was attended by about 200 researchers from Central Asia (Medeuova K.).
