On the 21st of October, the Republican volleyball tournament in the memory of the sisters Zhanara and Meruert Dzhumaykyzy was held at the sports complex of the College of Logistics and Transport in Almaty. More than 150 women participated in the competition. All participants were 45 years of age, meeting the main criteria for participation.
The purpose of the tournament was to promote a healthy lifestyle and make veteran women interested in volleyball. The game is organised annually and a number of players increases every year.

Teachers from the Social Sciences Faculty of the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University - Mubarakkyzy Balkiya and Daurenbekova Orynbasar Amangeldinovna took part in the Astana team.
“A healthy lifestyle and athletic longevity is the motto of the Astana women’s team. Experienced volleyball players competed in a tournament in Almaty. Throughout the tournament, my team and I fought on the field with other teams, demonstrating our skills, playing tactics, strategy and experience in volleyball. Volleyball is a beautiful and dynamic sport that actively attracts women of all ages. Nowadays, more and more women play volleyball and take part in competitions. This time, teams of veterans fought in a tournament where all women were over 45 years old, however it didn’t affect the quality of the game in any way”,—Mubarakkyzy commented on the tournament.
