Students of the Eurasian National University took part in a Crucial Seminar on the prevention of religious terrorism and extremism

On September 27th, Astana hosted an impactful seminar at the Center for the Study of Religions, with the backing of the Mayor's Office of Astana. Focusing on religious extremism, terrorism prevention, and the celebration of Kazakhstan's traditions and values, the seminar offered attendees deep insights into these pressing matters.

Among the noteworthy participants were Almukhanov Nurdaulet Imanalievich, head of the Office for Religious Affairs of Astana, and Kenzhekhanov Erdaulet Bakytbekovich, head of the Office of the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Representatives from various state institutions, NGOs, public councils, and religious experts also graced the event with their presence.

A significant highlight was the engagement of students from the "Religious Studies" Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Eurasian National University named after L. N. Gumilyov. These scholars actively participated and gained in-depth information directly pertinent to their academic focus.

The seminar extensively covered the promotion of religious literacy, warnings about the pitfalls of radical religious movements, and the necessity to strengthen societal defenses against extremist ideas.
