Joint session of the Public Council of the basic organization of the member of CIS countries on environmental education

A joint session of the public Council of the CIS basic organization for environmental education was held in Minsk. The joint session was coordinated by the International State Ecological Institute named after A. Sakharov of the Belarusian State University, the Russian Academy of Education and the UNESCO Network Chair. The topic of the session: "New approaches to the design of the content of environmental education for sustainable development.".

More than 30 scientists, experts and teachers participated in this meeting, including the chairman of the Public Council of the base organization of the member of  CIS countries on environmental education, the director of the International State Ecological Institute named after A.D. Sakharova - Professor S. Maskevich, Head of the UNESCO Network Chair “Environmental Education for Sustainable Development in the Global World” - Professor E. Dzyatkovskaya, Professor at the Department of Environmental Management of the Moscow State University named after Lomonosova - Mazurov Yu.L., Head of the Service for Control and Supervision in the Field of Environmental Protection, Member of the Council of the State Duma on Sustainable Development in the Russian Federation, State Counselor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area - Pikunov S.V. and other board members.

From the Kazakh side, a professor from the Department of Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge at the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov  G.K. Dlimbetova took part in this event.  Dlimbetova G.K. presented new theoretical approaches to the greening of education (report on the theme “Environmental education for sustainable development at the university”).

During the work, the participants discussed new approaches to the design of the content of environmental education, environmental standards of sustainable development in educational practices of universities, the system of environmental education and public education for sustainable development, the experience of social partnership, the integration of educational material of various subjects to achieve personal and metadata results, network pedagogical partnership "Learning to live sustainably in a global world."

The meeting participants also expressed great interest in expanding inter-university relations in priority areas within the framework of the Public Council.
