November 10, 2023 at the Eurasian National University. L.N. Gumilyov held an international round table on the topic “The current state of mediation in Kazakhstan”.
The event was organized as part of the scientific project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan AP19679307 “Development Strategy of Kazakhstan: the problem of mediation in resolving modern social conflicts”.
The round table was attended by professor of the Department of Philosophy of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, academician, project manager Garifolla Yesim, professor of the Department of Philosophy and Theory of Culture of Karaganda University E.A. Buketova, Doctor of Philology V.S. Baturin, consultant of the Progress-Aravan public fund I. Isakov (Kyrgyzstan), deputy director of the Mediation Center, Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Research L.M. Uzarovа, post-doctoral student of the Department of Philosophy of ENU L.N. Gumileva, PhD-doctor, VNS project S.E. Shakirov.
Also taking part in the round table were the head of the Department of Strategic Analysis of the KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan E.B. Toktarov, the head of the training center for training specialists for countering the ideology of extremism at the Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Sh. The round table discussed the causes and consequences of social tension in modern society, the role and capabilities of the institution of mediation in conflict prevention and resolution. During the discussion after the speakers' presentations, the project's research fellows A. Amangeldiyev, F. Musataeva, T. Mustafina focused on the fact that today there are contradictions between concepts and meanings, between scientists who study methodological problems and expert practitioners. In this regard, to overcome these contradictions, it is important to consolidate theoretical and practical experience.
