December 17, 2020 at the A. D. Sakharov international state environmental Institute of the Belarusian state University held a regular meeting of the Public Council of the basic organization of the CIS member states on environmental education.
The Chairman of the Public Council of the base organization, Director of the International State Ecological Institute named after A.D. Sakharov, Professor S.A. Maskevich addressed with a welcoming speech to the participants of the meeting.
At this meeting, scientists from Belarus, Russia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan took part.
On the Kazakhstan side, this event was attended by a member of the Council, Professor G.K.Dlimbetova from the Department of Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge.
In accordance with the agenda were heard the interim results of the basic organization of the CIS member states on environmental education. In particular, G.K. Dlimbetova reported on the success of the L.N. Gumilev ENU in the field of environmental education for sustainable development. Members of the Public Council highly appreciated the events held at the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, such as the international summer environmental school, international conferences devoted to the development of continuous environmental education and the development of a green university.
They noted the extreme importance of developing the competence of young people in environmental education. A brief presentation in the same direction was made by the invited guest, a master's student of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge, Vernadsky Foundation scholarship holder D. Akimish. The Public Council of the base organization praised the results of its work with young people in Kazakhstan and congratulated the faculty of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge for their success.
In the final part of the meeting, participants noted that networking and exchange of experience in methodological work during the year, a high level of publication activity was maintained, the importance of the theme of "Green Universities" was emphasized. Also, the participants of the meeting provided more information on further activities in the work plan of the Public Council of the base organization.
At the end of the meeting the participants expressed interest in further development of cooperation and expansion of inter-university relations in priority areas within the framework of the activities of the Public Council of the basic organization of the CIS member states on environmental education.
