Announcement of the competition for the positions of international experts

L. N. Gumilyov ENU announces a competition for positions on the project «Strengthening national curricula for the training and further training of social work specialists in the main competences of interaction and cooperation with the community with the aim of changing social norms of behaviour» at the Department of Sociology:

·       International expert No. 1 on documenting the experience of adapting the social work program of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU and facilitating it at the international forum.

·       International expert No. 2 to promote the development of a methodological guide for the implementation of a social work curriculum at the level of pre-graduate and postgraduate education.

The main duties of the international expert No. 1:

Ø  provide documentation of the experience of adapting the social work program of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU in close collaboration with the UNICEF HIV / AIDS Coordinator in accordance with the work plan;

Ø  ensure the documentation of the experience of adapting the social work program in 7 pilot regions (Akmola, East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar regions and Nur-Sultan city) and monitoring of work and results

Ø   provide facilitation at an international forum;

Ø  ensure the timely preparation and implementation of activities within the assigned tasks and the achievement of expected results;

Ø  contribute to activities and results and ensure the timely implementation of project activities, including reporting on the progress of planned activities and expected results;

Ø  ensure the proper timely delivery of reports on the results achieved and the tasks set;

Ø  prepare project reports, including progress reports, as well as ad hoc technical reports as required.

The main duties of the international expert No. 2:

Ø  ensure overall coordination of the development of methodological guidelines for the implementation of the social work curriculum at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in close collaboration with the UNICEF HIV / AIDS Coordinator, in accordance with the work plan;

Ø  ensure the timely preparation and implementation of activities within the assigned tasks and the achievement of expected results;

Ø  contribute to activities and results and ensure the timely implementation of project activities, including reporting on the progress of planned activities and expected results;

Ø  coordinate and supervise the work of field teams and other software personnel involved in the development of methodological guidelines for the implementation of a social work curriculum at the level of pre-graduate and postgraduate education in 7 pilot regions (Akmola, East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar oblasts and Nur-Sultan city) and monitoring of work and results;

Ø  ensure the proper timely delivery of reports on the results achieved and the tasks set;

Ø  prepare project reports, including progress reports, as well as ad hoc technical reports as required.

Specific results and timing:

The deadline for this assignment is April 10, 2021 to June 30, 2021. During this timeframe, international experts are required to provide monthly updates on progress, which will be included in the project coordinator's monthly reports.

Management and supervision:

The contract with international experts will be supervised by the project coordinator from L.N. ENU. Gumilyov. The work will be directed and controlled by L.N. Gumilyov ENU together with the UNICEF program coordinator.

Given the nature of the Joint Program, experts will regularly interact with the technical coordinators of the parties involved, as well as with government implementing partners, to ensure the implementation and quality of the above-mentioned results.

Required qualifications and experience for international experts:

ü  Master / Doctor PhD in Public Health, or Social Sciences;

ü  over 5 years of experience in health education and social care;

ü  fluency in Russian, Kazakh and English and the ability to draw up analytical reports on topics related to educational programs and methodological recommendations;

ü  ability to work in an international and multicultural environment;

ü  ability to work independently and respond to feedback in a timely and professional manner;

ü  excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to contribute to the team's work.
