Scientific seminar within the framework of the scientific project titled: The Problem of Institutionalization of Conflictology as a Science in Modern Kazakhstan

The scientific seminar was held on April 5th by postdoctoral research fellow (PhD) from the Department of Philosophy Symbat Yerkebayevich Shakirov within the framework of the scientific project titled: The Problem of Institutionalization of Conflictology as a Science in Modern Kazakhstan.

This seminar allowed presenting and holding a conversation on the topic of a scientific project. At this seminar, the conflicts that occurred in Kazakhstan from 2006 to 2022 were highlighted. Further, the systematization of conflicts at the main levels of social organization, the classification of social conflicts, three groups of factors that can cause an open clash were presented.

Within the framework of this seminar, questions were asked and further plans for updating the institutionalization of conflictology were discussed.

During the discussion of this topic at the scientific seminar, attention was drawn to the fact that all the necessary prerequisites and conditions exist for the institutionalization of conflictology in the country. First of all, this can be facilitated by a deep scientific rethinking of the centuries-old cultural heritage, thanks to which the nomadic Kazakh people managed to resist and survive in spite of all challenges and threats from both elemental forces of nature and social induced causes. And in this, a huge merit undoubtedly belongs to the institution of mediation that functioned in the Kazakh steppe through the judicial proceedings carried out by beys.

Further, during the discussion of this topic, the teaching staff gave recommendations and suggestions, in particular, Professor K.A. Medeuova noted that the systematization of conflicts at the main levels of social organization should be reviewed again in order to update the methods of identifying social conflicts. In addition, the academician G. Yesim, who is also a scientific consultant for this project, proposed to increase attention to conflict prevention in Kazakhstan.

The scientific seminar was attended by the teaching staff, doctoral students, and undergraduates of the Department of Philosophy.
