Scientific seminar at the Department of Religious Studies on the topic «Features of the interaction of the state and religious denominations: world experience and Kazakhstan»

On January 24, 2019, a scientific seminar was held at the Department of Religious Studies, at which Timur Talgatovich Aimukhambetov, Senior Lecturer of the Department, made a report within his research interests. The theme of his speech: «Features of the interaction of the state and religious denominations: international experience and Kazakhstan»

Tyshkhan Kenshilik, Head of the Department of Religious Studies, Yulia V. Shapoval, Department Professor, Kamarova Ruziya Islamovna, Senior Lecturer Alimkulova Saltanat Bektemirovna took an active part in the seminar. Also, the undergraduate 1 course Kereybayeva Zhanna Muratbekovna and a graduate of the Department of Religious Studies, currently studying in doctoral studies in the Republic of Turkey Ukenov Ali took part in the seminar.

        During the scientific seminar, theoretical and practical aspects of the interaction of the state and religious confessions were discussed in a comparative perspective. A special aspect was made, on the one hand, on the need for domestic scientists to engage in world academic discourse in the field of research on secularism, its various models in the modern world, which obscures the peculiarities of interaction between the state and religious faiths. On the other hand, the teachers who took part in the discussion noted the importance, based on the existing works of world and domestic scientists, to introduce new aspects to the study of state-confessional relations in the Republic of Kazakhstan using a mixed methodology combining quantitative and qualitative research methods.
