Inclusive education and sports in Kazakhstan

       On October 17, 2023, the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Faculty of Social Sciences, together with the Jastar Department, the Inclusive Support Service of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, held a round table “Inclusive education and sports in Kazakhstan.”

       The round table was attended by Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development Nurkatova L.T., Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Somzhurek B.Zh., Head of the Inclusive Support Service Dzhebaeva G.A., Director of the Paralympic Training Center Kiyakov M.T. , Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Marchibaeva U.S., Head of the Department of Sociology Mukhambetova K.A., Head of the Department of Pedagogy Asylbekova M.P., Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Salieva A.Zh., faculty, students.

        The dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Somzhurek Baubek Zhumashevich, delivered a welcoming speech and noted that work is being done to provide conditions for students with special educational opportunities, including distance learning and solving current problems of inclusion.

     Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development Lyazat Tolegenovna Nurkatova voiced important issues of social protection of persons with disabilities, including the creation of conditions for the education of persons with special educational needs, adaptation of students when entering the first year of study.

       Director of the Paralympic Training Center Kiyakov Margulan Talgatovich spoke on the issue of developing inclusive education in the field of adaptive physical education of children, integration and equality of opportunity.

      The head of the Inclusive Support Service, Dzhebaeva Gulzada Amantaevna, emphasized the importance of special psychological and pedagogical support for students with special needs and regulation of the activities of the psychological and pedagogical support service in learning.

      Also, students of the specialty of physical education and sports Abdumomynov M., Amelichkina A., Ospanov A., Abeuov M. took part in the discussion, who shared their successes in sports achievements.

   This event was an important step in the development of inclusive education and sports in Kazakhstan, as well as in supporting students with special educational needs.

       Inclusive education and sport contribute to the development of a more equitable and welcoming society. These two areas are pushing us towards a more tolerant and inclusive world, where everyone has the right to education and the opportunity to participate in sports.
