14 November 2017 the Faculty of Social Sciences celebrated the International Day of the Sociologist
The day of the sociologist originated in France in 1901, since then it is celebrated at the Department of Sociology
Sociologist - a professional who studies social problems, patterns of functioning and development of society.
Sociology Today – one of the most popular professions in Kazakhstan. Annually the best students from all over the country enter the Department of Sociology. Graduates of the department work in the most prestigious organizations like Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Center for Policy Analysis and Strategic Studies «Nur Otan», Committee of National Security of RK, research Center «Molodezh», Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "Public opinion" under the akimat of the city of Astana, research Center «Bilim» and etc.
In preparation for this holiday, the students of the department recorded video interviews, in which the leading sociologists of the country addressed sociologists with a congratulatory speech. In particular, D.E. Ashimhanova – Dr. PhD, Head of the Scientific and Methodical Department of research Center «Molodezh» in a congratulatory speech to sociologists pointed out that that the Department of Sociology is one of the most promising departments in the structure of the Eurasian University which is engaged in research aimed at improving society. She wished all creative benefits to sociologists, achievements in scientific and creative activity, fulfillment of all the goals.
Head of the Department of Sociology In his speech, Dr. PhD N.O. Baigabylov wished the professors and teachers of the department and students creative and productive successes.
Professor from Ukraine Candidate of Sociological Sciences P.V. Тоkar, who this year works at the Department of Sociology as a visiting professor in his speech noted that sociology is one of the most promising sciences, actively developing throughout the world.
In the framework of celebrating a professional holiday 14 November students of the sociology department organized a concert, Includes a demonstration of videos on a given topic, competitive program, creative numbers from students and undergraduates of the Department of Sociology.
For sociology students, a special entertainment program was prepared, which included a variety of amusing, humorous competitions with students and teachers. In honor of their professional holiday, students, undergraduates and doctoral students for their active participation in the university life and life of the department were awarded with congratulatory certificates.
The culmination of the holiday was the procedure for dedicating the students of the first year to sociologists.
The Department of Sociology congratulates all sociologists on their professional holiday and wishes successes in their work and new scientific discoveries!
