Distance teaching of pedagogical practice of the second year doctoral students at the Department of Religious Studies 01.09.2020 – 03.10.2020

          In 2020, the professional pedagogical practice of doctoral students of the Department of Religious Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Eurasian National University was conducted online due to the pandemic. Despite some difficulties, doctoral students, together with teachers, have successfully conducted teaching practice.

            Within the pedagogical practice, the work was aimed at the practical acquirement of modern pedagogical and informational-communicational technologies. In particular, efforts were made to master the effectiveness and distance learning methods, taking into account the specifics of the quarantine period.

            Planning and conducting practical and lecture classes within the pedagogical practice were made by the use of innovative educational technologies.

            Pedagogical practice was carried out in 3 stages: At the first stage, there was acquaintance with the normative documents, curricula and teaching aids of the department of "Religious Studies", various methods of conducting practical classes and lectures of students and undergraduates. Students were familiarized with the use of modern technologies of distance learning at the university and mastered in practice;

            At the second stage, leading teachers and scientific advisers participated in the lessons as an observer and analyzed the methods and formats for organizing and conducting distance online learning.

            At the third stage, according to the schedule, online lectures, independent work and practical exercises with students and undergraduates on the Microsoft Teams platform were held.

During the internship, the necessary materials for lectures were collected by doctoral students in the Otrar Library and the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan via the Internet.

The work performed by the student during the period of professional practice of Lipina Tatyana, in particular, she conducted online lectures on the following topics:

Participation in an online conference on teaching practice. In this conference the head of the Department K. Tyshkhan, head of pedagogical practice and adviser N. Kairbekov, doctoral students have participated. Doctoral students were assigned to the disciplines that they will teach during their internship.

An online meeting was held with the dean. The following topics were discussed: "Academic policy of the university", "Technology of distance learning at the university", "Activities of the student service center", "International cooperation of the university", "Youth and social policy", "Rules of residence in student houses", "Resources and services scientific library", "Rules for admission to the military department", "Scientific activity of the university", "Research training of students of postgraduate education".

Online meeting with Vice-Rector for Strategic Development Aitmagambetov D.R. Discussion Discussions of “About ENU", "University structure", "List of university departments", "Virtual rectorate". Problems of planning and monitoring of strategic development; issues of implementation of the ENU operational plan (in accordance with the state program for the development of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan) with target indicators important for the functioning of a modern university, indicators of direct results and planned activities; issues of accreditation and rating of educational programs of ENU in Kazakhstan and foreign rating agencies; issues of assessing the quality of education and the level of student satisfaction with the educational process (student surveys).

A lecture "Ethno-confessional processes in the context of globalization" on the discipline "Ethno-confessional processes in the modern world" was held. The materials within the lecture were considered.

Lipina Tatyana participated in the conference "Interethnic relations and issues of social integration in Kazakhstani society" as a listener to obtain relevant data on sociological research, expert developments in the discipline of ethno-confessional processes.

Participation in the lecture of prof. Yu. Shapoval on the topic "The Study of New Religious Movements: methodological issues" within the discipline "Traditional Religions and New Religious Movements" as a listener.

Attendance at a seminar on the topic "Main question is it possible the objective study of NRM" within the discipline "Traditional Religions and New Religious Movements" as a listener.

Participation in the lecture of prof. Yu.V. Shapoval on the topic “Three types of NRM. The World-rejecting NRM. The World-affirming NRM. The World - accommodating NRM” within the discipline “Traditional Religions and New Religious Movements” as a listener.

Collection and analysis of information, search for sources, including using the LIB.ENU database, and familiarization with the literature on the subject of the discipline. The completed work of the student during the period of professional practice Rashimbetov Rakhimzhan, in particular, he conducted online lectures and seminars on the following topics:

On issues of SES RK and education, etc. acquaintance with regulatory documents, educational programs, curricula, standard programs, the base of educational materials of the department; participation in the introductory lecture of PhD Kairbekova N.E., responsible for the professional practice of the Department of Religious Studies, presented the program of professional practice of doctoral studies. During the presentation of the program, the goals and objectives of the trainees were identified, the features of the organization of professional practice in distance learning were noted, demonstrated and explained. He presented a plan for the practice.

On the issues of SES RK and education, there was a meeting to familiarize themselves with regulatory documents, educational programs, curricula, standard programs, the base of educational materials for the department. Meeting with the head of professional practice. The professional practice schedule has been approved. Provides information on training methods and features on Microsoft Teams platforms.

Collected and assimilated information and materials for the lecture “Concepts of religious fundamentalism, terrorism, extremism, separatism” on the topic “Ethno-confessional processes in the modern world” on the website of the Otrar library, Internet. The works and abstracts of students on the topic: "Ethno-religious processes in the modern world" on the topic "Religious fundamentalism, terrorism, the consequences of extremism and measures to prevent them" were considered.                    

The completed work of the student during the period of professional practice Bekbolat Adilbek, in particular, he conducted online lectures and seminars on the following topics: Familiarization with the program of professional practice of doctoral studies in the specialty "Religious Studies"; "On the issues of SES RK, there was an acquaintance with the regulatory documents, educational programs, curricula, standard programs, the base of educational materials of the department"; Participation in the introductory lecture "Sufism: Religious Doctrine and Practice" for the 4th year bachelors of the specialty "Religious Studies". Acquaintance with the teacher's methodology during the lecture; From the electronic collection of the Otrar library on the topic: a lecture was held: “The essence of Sufism. Comparative analysis of the materials required for the lecture "Etymology of the Sufi word"; Review and evaluation of student essays on the topic: "The role of the Yassaviya movement in the concept of Kazakh Muslims"; The results of the practice were taken and a final report was written and a diary report on the lectures and practices was completed.               

            The completed work of the student during the period of professional practice Askhatuly Zhalkas, in particular, he conducted online lectures and seminars on the following topics: "Arab-Muslim culture" for 4th year students of the specialty 5B020600 - Religious studies. All lectures were delivered online on the Microsoft Teams platform; The first introductory session was a lecture on the general culture of the Arab world; A lecture on the art of writing and language literature in Arabic culture was held. A lecture on Islamic holidays was delivered. He collected and analyzed information, searched for sources, including using the LIB.ENU database, and familiarized himself with the literature on the subject of the discipline. Selection of the required material, consultation with the scientific advisor. Preparation of the plan and structure of the seminar. Creation of presentation material and applied cases on the topic of the lesson.  

Along with this, activities were actively carried out by the heads of practice and teachers of the department to increase the level of theoretical knowledge in the context of their use in the course of professional activity. In particular, the following activities were carried out:

an online lecture was held on the ZOOM program, on the topic “Bases of Practice of the Department and Their Specifics”. At this event, students were provided with information about the activities of practice bases and their specifics. Also, answers were given to students' questions on the topic of the lecture;

an online lecture was held on the Microsoft Teams program, on the topic "Remote Format of Activities in Production". This lecture was given by the Head of the Department Kenshilik T., who also shared his experience of working in a remote format during a pandemic. Also, answers were given to students' questions on the topic of the lecture;

an online seminar was held on the Microsoft Teams program. This seminar was conducted by senior teacher Saltanat Bektemirovna Alimkulova, where answers were given to students' questions on the topic of the seminar.

In general, despite the difficulties and the very fact of conducting practice online for the first time, doctoral students of the Department of Religious Studies coped with the set goal and tasks during their professional practice. In many ways, this was facilitated by the help of responsible teachers in practice at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
