Multilingualism is a social necessity and standard in modern life. Knowledge of three languages is a competitive task for each citizen in our state. Leader of our country noted, "Kazakh people should be known to the world as a cultural people speaking three languages”.
The lecture was held in L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The topic of lecture was “Multilingualism in professional development in terms of updating the content of education”. The speaker of the seminar was Sayasat Nurbek. The aim of the lecture was problems and factors in the development of multilingual education.
The participants were master students, doctoral students and teachers from different departaments. Participants of departament “Social pedagogy and self- knowledge” were prof.Dlimbetova G.K, prof.Abibulaeva A.B and 2nd course master student Karlkyzy G.
During seminar, we discussed key tasks of multilingualism:
- Kazakhstan President’s message;
- State Program of Education Development in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011- 2020;
- State program of functioning and development of languages for 2011–2020 and cultural program “Trinity of languages”
- International legal instruments of multilingual education.
Lecturer paid attention to formation language identity, readiness for intercultural foreign language communication and pedagogical training of future teachers. He used international case based on example of different countries: Netherlands, Singapore, and Malaysia.
In conclusion, participants noted usefulness of information. At the end of seminar, participants were awarded participation certificates.
